The list at a glance
Review Thursday, October 15, 2026 4 of 6 items received 2025 tax return waiting 19 days
Everything Quillfield Wealth Advisors has asked the Abernathy household for ahead of the October 15 annual review, in one list: what has arrived, what is still outstanding, who holds each item and what happens next. Kept by Zaid Bukhari, operations associate, for Anne and Gerald Abernathy and for Rebecca Stroud, client service director. Status as of Tuesday, September 29, 2026. Issued Thursday, October 1, 2026.
What has arrived and what has not
Six items were requested for the review: beneficiary confirmations, the 2025 tax return, two insurance statements and a Social Security estimate for each spouse. Four have arrived through the secure request. Two are outstanding, and both are held by someone outside the household. Each square below is one item.
Who holds each item
The table lists the six requested items. "Who holds it" is the person or organization that has the document today, which is who Quillfield asks when an item is late.
| Item | Used for | Who holds it | Status | Owner and next step |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Beneficiary confirmations | Checking the people named on each account | Household | Received | Zaid Bukhari: filed in the packet |
| Social Security estimate for Anne | The plan section | Household | Received | Zaid Bukhari: filed in the packet |
| Social Security estimate for Gerald | The plan section | Household | Received | Zaid Bukhari: filed in the packet |
| Insurance statement, other policy | The insurance section | Insurer | Received | Zaid Bukhari: filed in the packet |
| 2025 tax return | The tax projection | Household accountant | Outstanding, 19 days | Zaid Bukhari: receive the return by Oct 9 |
| Long-term care policy statement | The insurance section | Insurer | Outstanding, 19 days | Zaid Bukhari: follow up with the insurer on Oct 2 |
Everything still open before the review
Every open item is sorted by who has the next move. Waiting on household means the next move is Anne and Gerald's. Waiting on third party means a custodian, insurer, provider or accountant holds it. In progress means Quillfield is working on it, and Requested means the request has gone out. Seven items are open for the Abernathy household: three are Waiting on household (IRA consolidation transfer form, Trust certification signed by both trustees, Identification documents for both trustees) and four are Waiting on third party (2025 tax return, Long-term care policy statement, 401k rollover deposit, Variable annuity statement).
Chasing an item held by someone else
An item held by a third party follows the same steps every time. The steps below show where the 2025 tax return stands. The household accountant has not answered two requests, and Anne authorized Quillfield to request the return from the accountant directly.
- First request, Sep 10
- Second request, no answer
- Anne authorizes a direct request
- Quillfield asks the accountant
- Return received, by Oct 9
- Tax projection prepared
Any item waiting more than 14 days goes on Rebecca Stroud's list for a call. These four items sit with third parties today.
| Holder | Item | Waiting | Owner | Next contact |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Household accountant | 2025 tax return | 19 days | Zaid Bukhari | Direct request; receive the return by Oct 9 |
| Insurer | Long-term care policy statement | 19 days | Zaid Bukhari | Follow up on Oct 2 |
| Custodian | 401k rollover deposit | 12 days | Linnea Holmqvist | Confirm the deposit before the review |
| Annuity provider | Variable annuity statement | 6 days | Linnea Holmqvist | Request the statement |
Why the days waiting differ from the days since the request
Days waiting run from the date an item was requested to September 29. The 2025 tax return and the long-term care statement were requested on September 10, the 401k rollover deposit on September 17 and the variable annuity statement on September 23. The IRA consolidation transfer form was requested on August 19, which is why it shows 41 days.
